" The thought of approaching action aroused strange and contradictory emotions in me. I felt an immense pity for all the little men who toiled on in the prison which society has succeeded in building against the open sky, who knew nothing and felt nothing of what I knew and felt at that moment. Yesterday I was like them, and in another few days I would be like them again. But today I was a prisoner set free; and tomorrow I would be a lord and master, and commander of life and death, of the stars and the elements." -Giusto Gervasutti.

Tholung valley trek is a good idea. Here is some information about it.. Tholung valley in North Sikkim is home to the ethnic Lepcha community. It is a protected area. Dense forested slopes high above the Tholung valley are home for the Lepchas. The trek up this stunning forested valley leads to higher alpine valleys below the snow capped mountains of the Kanchenjunga range. You have to start from Bagdogra or Phuentsoling/ Bhadrapur airport and the best season for Tholung valley trek is between March-June and October-November. The trekking ranges from easy to moderate and maximum altitude is 2600m. Tholung trek is very rewarding as you can get to see many relics and antiques collected from other monasteries for preservation. Many of these relics are displayed every three years specially on a appointed day.
