" If adventure has a final and all-embracing motive, it is surely this: we go out because it is our nature to go out, to climb mountains, and to paddle rivers, to fly to the planets and plunge into the depths of the oceans... When man ceases to do these things, he is no longer man." -Wilfrid Noyce.

TOPIC: Hey Mountain lovers

Hey Mountain lovers 4 years, 11 months ago #792

Hello,

I am Amar from Mumbai. In school / college days used to go for a lot of treks mainly in the Sahyadri and had done few treks in the Himalaya's.

Due to early start of work life followed by marriage dreams of travel were sacrificed. After 4 year of marriage and stability in work started in 2008 to enjoy my much loved dream little by little.

Have concentrated mainly in the Kumaon region of the Himalaya's and planning to complete all the major valleys there after which venture into the Garhwal side and later to Himachal, Ladhak & North East.

Have been able to complete the Roopkund, Sundardunga, Pindar & Milam(Johar) Valley treks i.e. starting the the West to the East of Kumaon region. As to exp the weather have done the Chadar Trek too.

Have now blogged the treks at amards.blogspot.com

Love to give and receive valuable inputs.

Cheers

Amar

Welcome to Indian Mountaineers forum Amar,

great to have you on the forum... we are from Pune. Now I have some one to ask about Kumaon region, as I have no personal experience in that area. Are you mainly into trekking or you wish to climb peaks?

In my opinion, you have covered most of Kumaon region. At least famous treks. I am sure I will have lots of questions to you for Kumaon.

With whom do you climb / trek generally?
